戴維斯獨木難支 鵜鶘平隊史最糟開季八連敗
鵜鶘客場出戰國王，全隊像是缺了一股氣，緊要關頭就是無法追上對手，儘管主將戴維斯(Anthony Davis)再度攻下超過30分，鵜鶘最終仍以94比102不敵國王。鵜鶘開季八連敗，追平隊史最慘紀錄。鵜鶘從開賽起便一路落後，最後一節，菜鳥射手希爾德給予戴維斯援手，兩人合力拿了20分，可惜沒有擋下對面的卡珍斯(DeMarcus Cousins)，他一人也得了11分，鵜鶘勝場始終無法開張。
卡珍斯攻下28分，蓋伊(Rudy Gay )繳出21分、6籃板、6助攻成績。艾佛拉諾(Aaron Afflalo)6投5中，貢獻15分。
戴維斯拿下全場最高34分，另有8籃板和4阻攻、2抄截。希爾德(Buddy Hield)第四節得到12分，全場14分進帳。背靠背出賽的鵜鶘，外線依舊低迷，三分球只有21中5的水準。
鵜鶘開季八連敗追平隊史2004-2005年球季紀錄，當時球隊名字還是叫做黃蜂，該季最後以18勝64敗成績結束，迄今仍是隊史戰績最差紀錄。
比賽中還出現罕見的情形，由於場邊紀錄台疏失，漏記了鵜鶘團隊犯規次數，在半場休息後，比賽又倒回第二節最後18.9秒。比分從51比48，修正為51比46，國王由卡珍斯進行加罰，兩罰俱中後，鵜鶘再重新進攻，結果這次未能進球，上半場比分最終變成53比46，鵜鶘反倒多落後4分。
鵜鶘總教練簡崔(Alvin Gentry)坦言從未見過這種事，不過他說：「這就是規則，他們不知道已經進入加罰狀態，所以倒回重新來過，這不是甚麼大問題。」

I don't get it, why do the Pelicans need to trade with the Celtics? For the 2017 draft, the highest draft pick the Celtics can get seems to be the one from the Nets (unless the Celtics start to tank badly now). At this rate, the Pelicans (0-8) most likely can get a higher draft position than the Nets! They have not traded away any of their 2017 draft picks, except their 2nd round draft pick to the TWolves (protected 31-55 anyway). On the other hand, they get the non-protected 2nd round draft pick from the 76ers (which, like the Pelicans, are also win-less so far). So, all in all, the Pelicans will likely have a lot of good draft picks at the end of this season, then why trade AD away?
It's unfortunate that Lance Stephenson was injured and the Pelicans had to release him (in order to get a new player Goodwin as they are short handed). However, the Pelicans management said they would consider re-hire him once he recovered from injury. In my opinion, the Pelicans should get a new coach, keep AD, Jones, Moore, Ajinca, Holiday and the rest can be released. Get some good draft picks next year and the team can rebuild. The team is most lacking at the SF position, IMO. Neither Hill/Cunningham/Pondexter is good enough. Evans is injured and his total recovery is uncertain, plus he is a bit small for SF anyway.

選秀權除外 大概會被要走3~4個人
但是我不認為BOS會答應 而且 薪資也是很大的問題呀 感覺氣力放盡了，前幾場那些神數據，球隊卻還是輸...真的是很慘<br><br><br><br><br><div></div> 反正已經是最爛,也不會再爛了! 安呂布再厲害，隊友不堪大用也無濟于事 那就坦下去吧，但控制ad上場時間，順便賣球員換新秀回來練，等選秀樂透!(76人模式)!
另一方法是把ad賣給灰狼，換回wiggins及rubio，再賭選秀及自由市場。
最理想的方法應該是找尼克談大量選手及教練交換，把尼克的甜瓜及rose換來，依兩者重新打造球隊，讓ad這種數學好的去打三角戰術，順便賣掉asik(不佔球權又搶籃板，適合三角戰術)，雙方教頭順便也交換，雙方加速重整!(但這是癡人說夢)。
